Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Another Dismal Month in April

The losing streak continues as the results for April were beyond subpar.

What happens in sports when a team stinks up the joint?

The coach, and sometimes management, gets fired. It’s time for Japan to wake up and get rid of the jamokes running Canon USA into the ground!

Never going to improve. Upper Management making bad decisions on top of bad decisions. Won't even consider rethinking the failure. Just keep paddling towards the edge of the falls to the inevitable crash.

@rx Did it work out so well for Xerox? Seriously? They are a skeleton of what they used to be! He-l the Xerox Tower in Rochester, NY is nothing but an empty shell. 😂. Yeah, that Xerox playbook worked out really well. Thanks for the joke.

Also, what you said about the WF team and PPS team is spot on. Why did you think that PK and DV and pals jumped on the ships NOT sinking. Techs who have experience with production printing will be saved but for the others, say bye bye

@f1, you are absolutely correct. Especially when you are talking about the rural areas that CUSA doesn't want to cover for sales or definitely not service these accounts. MO laid out his plans on the greatest rah rah kickoff call of all time! And told folks to be expecting to be put on letter. They're following the Xerox/Ricoh playbook. It worked out so well for Xerox that they are doing it for a 2nd time. The MIF will go to dealers and MAYBE the employees who are the sales and techs in the SMB market, and not based in a regional hub, will be sold to the dealers. Unfortunately, Sammy San showed his cards before the river and the flop so now the dealers hold all the leverage. I got one of those letters about 3 weeks after I got a raise. That makes lots of sense!

@f1 Agree with the one post: CSA operated fine not as a part of CUSA. The fact they want to dump office copiers to dealers proves CUSA saw CSA as an instant cash cow to be milked. Well, the acquisition soured the milk very quickly. As a result, a huge talent exodus. If the company wants to achieve profitability, get rid of the management overhead, starting with the micromanagers. They are irrelevant. And too many non-Americans in high positions.

Top heavy management has constipated the company, resulting in endless inertia and boneheaded thinking. CSA on its own was doing great until it was merged into CSA. The embrace of AI has done nothing to improve the company except costing people their livelihoods. And last but not least, moving from Microsoft to Google as a platform. All brought to you by dysfunctional and bloated management that's worthless as a cow pie in the road.

The company is too top heavy. How many Directors, Senior Directors, etc. do they really need? Get rid of at least half of them and give a chance to the plentiful talent below. They bring fresh perspectives, are cheaper, doing all the work already and generally more efficient anyway! A change is needed, immediately!!

Meetings taking place with dealer network. Direction is to keep Production and Wide format and move all other copier sales/service to dealer network. National Sales group for Major Companies and Government will be retained.

Cost vs net profit from direct business impacting company negatively. Direct overhead costly. Integrating Canon Solutions America into Canon USA not returning savings projected. Target is 3rd Qtr.
