Honestly, it feels like there are way too many people on this forum who WANT layoffs to happen and just make sh#t up about "layoffs" when in reality, nothing "major" is or is planned to happen lol. If you want to be laid off then, do your best to make it happen! Stop going into office, do less than minimal work or straight up stop doing any work at all, don't respond to emails or TEAMS pings, etc... idk, it's not that hard to get laid off if you quit working lol.

We are at DELL. Layoffs are daily. Weekly. Monthly. Yearly. Just like literally any corporation in the world, layoffs are constant, you just don't hear about them unless they are large scale and even then, they have to be REALLY big layoffs to make the news.

Dell went from 130K employees down to sub 100k in under 6 years via large layoffs twice/year since 2020. The goal was to be under 100k employees.
That was there way of "speeding" things along - with large layoffs twice/year - rather than dragging it out for 10 years via trickle layoffs... Well, now that they are sub 100k, they have clearly transitioned back to a normal layoff routine which involves... trickle layoffs/firing. Meaning you won't hear about 99% of layoffs anymore.

Just because a few people in your org were let go doesn't mean there are company wide, or even org wide "layoffs," it means that those individuals were seen as not needed, underperforming, or xyz reason.

You guys act as if Dell is the only dang company in the world who has layoffs lol

@b4 Realistically the majority of employees are not i9 or above and the only reason I say those with 10+ years at Dell is because they almost certainly have a high salary. We all know Dell absolutly discrimilnates against the elders regardless of salary/tenure/IC level lol.

I think a lot of the NDA peeps are gonna get WFR'd soonish. Specifically those who played a major role in it because it was delayed an entire quarter...

IF there are layoffs my guess is it'll be something like this

  • Top dawgs in the NDA - missed the deadline by a quarter - JC no happy
  • Remotes - Dell don't want remotes and eventually they gon start cutting them out
  • High salaried + old age
  • Those with 10+ years and high salary (tenured)
  • i9's and above
  • low performers
  • those who aren't going into office at minimum 45 days/quarter

A LOT of contractors were let go today and that's a mystery to me... One of ours was with us for 4 years and was a great asset. MGT tried over and over to get him to FTE and it just didnt happen. Now the FTE has no backup person
