Do people at the management‑ladder level and principals, senior principals, chiefs—ever get put on a PIP? I’m asking because we have a principal on the team who struggles with fundamentals, guided the group in the wrong direction, and then claimed we needed “modifications” once things started going south... he is PIP material

all the upstream being piped as the downstream takeover of Houston continues
If an employee is PIPed their manager should be PIPed
@10e 55+ rule applies to every one pretty much but they are safe and get to retirement much easier than ICs
Managers are routinely pipd..but most are 55+ so they retire on good terms preserving their RSUs for 7yrs forward look. No one is safe and no cl even exec safe. It is not the us vs. them … it is the system vs. you
I think they never PIP managers.
@d3 But even in Covid managers were safe only individual contributors were PIPed
@cm Good to know. There are 2 of them in our section the only thing they do is talking in meetings and scrutinizing every ones' work
No mortal is safe
Principals and managers should be scrutinized more than anyone, but they aren't. The vast majority are useless or toxic.
I have not heard any manager in management ladder being piped but may be others have heard different stories...
We’ve PIP’d principals in my org.
@OP don’t know but accountability and responsibility get pushed down as far as it can go…seemingly by design.
Who is wrong is by the eye of the beholder. This place didn’t deserve your best or your heart.
