If you look, you can see what’s going on. Management not really enforcing 5 day RTO. Snacks/eggs not being restocked. Soda/coffee/water machines taking days to refill.
The company is feeling the cost squeeze of offering those things now that they have to save for the new .
So they look away on you coming in 2-3 days, and you look away on all these amenities they lured you back with.

@1b6 are you one???
@1as What about Caribbean remote workers?
Look into the Caribbean remote workers. The are a crafty bunch.
@jx "You have to actually produce something of value." Wrong. You can consistently make terrible shows that lose the company millions and still get nicely compensated.
@jc You seem to be in the camp of those old school “you can only work in an office” people that populate these threads to criticize those of us who think we were more productive with WFH. I haven’t seen a single person on any of these threads ever complain about having to work. The common thread is the completely illogical and poorly executed RTO.
@c4 people who think that “you are given compensation for your time” are exactly what is wrong with this company. Many companies, not just this one. No, nobody gets their compensation for sitting on your a-s from 9 to 5. You have to actually produce something of value.
This site has turned into adults crying they have to go to work. It’s just pathetic
@cv this isn't why. they wanted to force remote workers back in, they just saw what happened when they try (mass exodus).
they want RTO because they want to have total control over their employees. they have this illusion that being remote = slacking off
@c4 Agreed. If you're a sr director and above at this point you should feel self conscious as to why you're still standing. You're a useful id--t who's bad at their job and should feel bad. You're the reason why the company is failing.
This is all gibberish. What the heck are you all talking about? This is the stuff you're concerned with,??? Great now Ellison knows just what your weak spot is, thanks for broadcasting it. Geniuses
@ex what does “L2 and their targets” mean?
None of the hr tracking stuff said in here is true. Exception reports are sent to EVPs, if they have a problem they’re instructed to talk to you. The cuts are going to be made based on L2 and their targets. Trust me, the cuts are math, not rto. Rto comes into play if your boss wants you gone.
@c3 lol you think the company recognizes talented people... Omg stop
@an We are compensated for performance and productivity, not simply just our “time.” So yes, while it might appear that we don’t have much of a say in WHERE we work, high performers can definitely get away with more WFH as long as they are delivering results. So please stop with the karma bs.
@b4 It would be id--tic to cut just on the basis of attendance. Believe it or not, despite making a lot of very questionable business decisions, at the end of the day, DE wants a successful business. So, I do think layoffs would be based more on performance. If they just cared truly about attendance, they would’ve forced remote workers back into the office instead of allowing them to stay remote.
@an Spoken like an architect of Gilead.
@bm Wait till the World Cup. NY and NJ have already said in the media that traffic will be a nightmare and are encouraging commuters to stay home during game days. Im sure the company will be lenient on those who choose to stay home just as they did with the NJ tunnel construction in March.
@an you are given compensation for your time, yes. but you are not compensated for the extra costs accrued from commuting to work (company was full remote before).
i maintain that if they want 5 days RTO, they should pay in person rates. i left for a position with 3 days RTO and almost double my salary here, and i encourage everyone else to leave.
@OP If the company is looking the other way, it is because they have lost talented people because of the RTO edict, not because they don’t want to pay for eggs. Watch for the crackdown to come after the WB merger is complete.
@b4 I’m sure they will use it as a data point to compare similar people if a hard decision has to be made. If that’s the tipping point for a lay off decision, so be it.
I’d be shocked if it was a blanket decision on the lowest x%. If you’re really good at your job and bring value to the company, it’s easy to get some slack. Also add in all of the travel disruption this winter to the northeast w NJ transit + snow, are those really counting as no-show days?
@b4 what if there is a record of reason why one would work from home? That’s what I was told…managers are flexible of situations as long as they have a record of the reason why.
@OP HR is definitely tracking attendance and ranking people based on it. When the next round of cuts happens, depending on the target percentage, they can use that data as justification. For example, the 10–15% with the lowest attendance could be let go.
That's a pretty ignorant thing to say and some really bad advice. The HR Analytics team is absolutely building noshow/lowshow reports that will absolutely be used to determine future employment disposition.
They're looking at VPN logs, card reader information and Okta logging which, by the way, has your GPS coordinates and ISP's ASN.
You are given compensation for your time. How and where you spend that time is not up to you as long as you accept compensation for that time. I do hope you find your karma.
@a4 Same. If anything, I’m noticing an improvement in the level of offerings.
My building’s snacks are getting restocked very regularly …
