Anyone from the previous round willing to share their age and salary grade? Curious if the same age groups or grades are being targeted in the cuts rumored for today.

You can thow out the age question. Yes workers >40 are targeted, but they are also balanced by <40 for reporting purposes. You get a list of grades, roles and ages when (not if) you are RIFed.

@ad Thank you. So true. You have the guts to say what others think but are afraid to say even if it's anonymous.
This post proves nobody hates Optum employees more than other Optum employees. It is bad enough to have lost teammembers yesterday without people mocking the layoffs.
@bg how many in Talent Acquisition were laid off?
If on shore what regions are you from? I hear the East was hit really hard today.
Grade 27, 4 years seniority, age 69 in May. 5 bosses in 4 years. No raise 2 yrs in a row so thank you for the break! Yes, they will be losing a lot of knowledge but I'm now a former employee and don't have to worry about that nonsense anymore.

Everyone in my group (Talent Acquisition) was 50+
Manages might not pick the employees but they DO submit options
@be In a RIF (at least in MN) they have to disclose the list of people on the team, by job title and age that were selected/not selected for layoff. It’s a big, smart, shady company. You can bet they are taking as many older and higher paid people as possible. The legal dept is going to make sure there are enough young ones to keep it out of the discrimination category. Not to mention, in my team’s case, men vs women.
They care nothing of tenure, experience, value. Only the bottom line $$. You are only a number
@ar how did you find out this information?
SG 28 age 64 past layoff
We were impacted by a January RIF. It was three women over age 50 who were in the higher part of their salary range (different grades). You can say it isn't age discrimination but it takes years to get a higher salary here with tiny to no raises and so if the are targeting people with higher salaries they probably are over age 50.
@ar On our team it was everything you list, and additionally their pay relative to the rest of the team. Our most tenured, most experienced and beloved team member was let go likely due to their higher salary. We unfortunately lost a huge amount of history and tribal knowledge when they left.
Pattern has been primary risk factors are:
over 45
on-shore
grade 28 or higher
people not running a "production" team (directors) or otherwise individual contributors
Above median salary for grade level/location
In cases of biz area being closed/consolidated, little of this will apply.

Last round they cut only one guy from my team of six and he shockingly was the teams highest performer but my manager’s least favorite sheep. He was a grade level 29 Director probably about 50 years old.
@a9 ... well, plausible deniability, anyway. But in general, straight, white males over 45 have a target on their backs here and everywhere else.
SG28 and 60 years old
don't be foolish - selection is done with a hyper focus on not discriminating by Age, Gender, Race or salary.
This is why Managers do not pick the candidate.
