@f6 How so?
@h7 once one gets in to the US on L1A or H1B they'll get all their buddies over too. Prepare for the takeover from all directions, NY and now overseas.
@ce I did mean India contractors are being hired on as employees, Penny let us know that, along with building a home office in India.
@ew and the one thing we actually did okay with (remote work before covid and during) we are now going to toss out the window so we can replicate a 1980s office setting. All to reduce headcount because somehow slashing labor costs quickly will fix our flawed business model and awful marketing approach. We work at a circus run by low iq clowns.
@ew hahahaha this is too funny and true. I have to laugh because if I can't laugh I'd be crying
Can’t speak on when but branch office jobs are currently being reworked that will lead to less headcount.
Outsourcing to India is a 2002 strategy, not 2026. This goes to show how unequivocally stupid ELT is (and how much the strategy is being influenced by consultants milking them dry).
Let me break this down…
- We outsource transactional work to India (whose value add is cheap labor)
- India then is going to gleefully help us replace their own cheap labor with AI
- We won’t need India labor any longer
Make sense? Of course it doesn’t.
Companies stopped building outsourcing operations in India in 2007. Why? Because technology has taken all that work in modern companies.
But at least EJ won’t be stuck in 1989 anymore and will advance to the roaring 2000’s…while your data is exported overseas.
Good to see EJ is al least maintaining one core value: Being 20 years behind everyone else.
@cc US contractors...........I doubt that. They will make you a contractor forever (or to the end of the period they can, end your contract and then rehire you as a contractor only when they can) and never convert you. Now if they are contractors from India........they probably will hire them after a month of being a contractor.
And the contractors are going to be hired on as Edward Jones employees.
News as in "will there be layoffs?" Or news as in "I've heard rumors, is there any truth to it?"....we are opening a new home office in india and contractors (we have over 3000 as of today) will now be even more plentiful as the push to use AI intensifies. So, do the math and look at what other big corps are doing. Make the people use AI, then eliminate their jobs claiming "AI replaced them!" then outsource their job to india.
