Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

RIF - SLs,GCLs

In two weeks, a RIF will take place at WI ,Wealth & Brokerage. The SL/CL roles will be combined, and SLs will be asked to assume G8 positions. GCL roles with fewer than 8–10 direct reports will be eliminated. In most cases, GSLs will take over the responsibilities of GCLs.

No SL’s are not going tobe asked to become VP. SL role is going to see massive reduction. They will not be invited to become group engineering leads. Engineers will be part of larger engineering team reporting to engineering leaders.

I wonder if the part of FI that just merged into Fidelity Wealth will be impacted by the RIF? Thoughts? I’m sick of being depressed and being surrounded by other depressed people all day.

I heard some of the more client-side roles in Wealth are under a microscope as well - branch space. Nothing definitive. Anyone else heard anything there?

What’s a GCL - is that just a chapter leader - what’s the G for? Just RIF me already - I don’t want to be back 100%. I don’t think they will do a RIF because they like t0rturing us so much.

Who will software engineers report to? Chapter leaders still? And who will chapter leaders report to?
