More Layoffs/Realignments Coming

Heard a senior executive openingly admit that more Layoffs, or as he said, realignments we're coming as they review each department.

Makes sense given Amit's constantly saying high performing workers/organization. He's singling to everyone he wants to fire most people.

@k6 I mean we can't roll out simple feature requests that are years outdated. why can't claude just replace all this?

Two engineering issues. 1) Lack of focus. Instead of working from most important to least important, everything needs to be done now, and much of the work is done poorly. 2) Misuse of talent. Many examples of the wrong people for the job. Rank favoritism is the tie-breaker for who does what.

@OP New CEO must overhaul engineering leadership, eliminate directors/VPs who are managing few to none, bring smart and hands on engineering leadership who can deliver meaningful software. This is the only way Five9 can stay afloat in the current market

There is a lot of deadweight and manual workflows that have been ignored for years with zero automation investment. It will be good to see some of these areas turn around and have positive influence on closing deals, support and reduce eng overhead so we can focus on building better products faster.

@bn he has been very slow at enacting change. He's still working through all his VP and up 1:1s to get a lay of the land and determine next actions.

I’ve heard the same thing. Sometime around July. Change is definitely going to happen, but it should be expected by now.

To be quite honest, I really like the new CEO, his communication style is spot on. He seemed to have his head in the right place and I like what he’s been saying.

All the technology companies are having a challenging time with the unknown impact of AI. , For one, I am rooting for Five9

This last round missed the CPO, but I think he should be in the next round.

I hope this was everyone’s expectation with a tanking stock price and a new CEO. I’m more surprised it’s been this slow.

Thanks OP, that was very helpful information. Let me just comb through the list of 30+ 'Senior Execs' in the Contacts list. Lol.
