IBM's Shares Have Just Collapsed Again as a Result of the Phony 'Results'

Of course all the so-called news is shallow parroting of IBM or "churnalism" void of real analysis.

@d2

If you are still with IBM and complaining just find another job. I am going to continue to learn more and Band 7 is on the horizon for me

@cv Assuming you are paid by IBM to perform some valuable task. Spending your time on this board spewing nonsense does not help IBM.
Your statements are sh-t. Get a life.

@cv AI growth? LOL. The AI market, including yes the ENTERPRISE market is dominated by 3 companies - OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. IBM has less than 1% of the Enterprise AI market, and even that is mostly ELA customers that don't even know they have watsonx and aren't using it.

@cb

Z cycles have always been part of IBM’s model — that’s not new. What is new is AI and software growth extending beyond hardware cycles. Reducing everything to Z/ELA ignores where the mix is shifting.

Once the Z17 cycle winds down in a few quarters, look out below. That double digit SW growth is an illusion, it's all ELA stuffing tied to Z upgrades at existing logos. No net new.
