When layoffs were occasional, the culture and morale were good, and we were doing better than most of competitors? Good times.

When I joined it was one of the bestest company , Atheros acquisition spoiled the culture and no looking back , then influence of folks from Nxp , intel and the likes … they influenced their toxic culture . How real good company gets f’ d up by exponential growth and weak leadership… I wish I could go back to pre 2012 Qualcomm …
IMO All of Qualcomms corporate executives lost their integrity, if they had any or even cared about having any, when they sold the so called infrastructure division in 1999 that Sulpizio said didn't exist, to Ericsson. They created a package for those employees that provided a sliver of the value of unvested stock options that should have immediately vested called the "Bonus Retention Package" IIRC.
If it was not agreed to and accepted by the infrastructure employees it would be considered a voluntary termination. Heard that with my own ears. It was just a bluff form of coercion that I, and likely others, took seriously. Because some employees did not sign under duress, they did not get fired but in fact got settlements from Qualcomm after litigation.
Perhaps Jacobs, Sullivan, Veterbi, Sulpizio, Coffman et al. will all remember their part in this to over 1000+ dedicated employees when they take their last breaths or when they find out their end is near.
Paul f’d up and left us with poor leadership down the line …
