Someone explain to me why we seem to have the money to travel the IT leaders in every region around so they can glad-hand and throw parties for their leadership cronies, when they don’t make us revenue. If anything they cost us more and more every day.

You could reduce VPs and Senior Directors by 50% easily and improve company performance even
In my previous company VPs knew their entire team by name and were in full control of daily realities of each team member. Here VPs don’t even know who their team members are because they never come and spend time with their teams. Their times are so valuable that only spent in fun activities. They are busy with managing the perception that things are under control till they move to another role, then leave a mess behind with zero guilt. They think people are naive and don’t see their game. Nope, you are seen and you don’t have the reputation you think you have. Quite the opposite.
struggle to understand what senior dirs and VPs even bring to the table sometimes, countless workshops, lots of trips but no actual changes or actions, just buzzwords, most of the time teams working against their d-mb decisions, so they are more like an obstacle...
If I were them, I would the same. If I cannot meet revenue targets I will layoff some emyployees or will not give them raises, bonuses and will still meet my target lol why would I give up my pleasure for the employees who will not leave even though I am not increasing their salaries and not giving them direction? What is my incentive to act like you ask me to do? There are zero consequences for me. Why do I bother then? I know the employees who have options have already left, the rest will complain but keep working. Perfect world for me
same at digital, constant trips
