Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Working at WellMed clinic

I have been laid off after more than 20 years as a physician. It was a huge shock, with no warning—just an invitation to a Teams meeting! Inhumane! On the other hand, it was a relief after working nonstop in a horrible, toxic environment and wondering every day how much longer I could tolerate it. If you still work at Optum/WellMed clinic-leave!—do yourself a favor and don’t waste your time waiting for the next layoff.

I left on my own will. Working for a toxic manager in a hostile workplace was enough for me to just leave. I’m happier now and found great job already. No regrets.

Wellmed has become inept for the last year. Are you in Texas?

@OP I’m sorry you had to go through that. I hope you’re able to get severance pay and unemployment? If I may ask, was it a director that set up the Teams meeting?

@OP Optum /Wellmed are cruel. I am sorry they did that to you. Take your skills somewhere that will appreciate your hard work! You will find something else better! Best wishes.
