@zy totally agree with your comment and sentiments. I have worked at a number of places and OXY treats its employees far better than anywhere else I’ve ever worked. Your job is more secure… OXY really doesn’t do layoffs. You have it pretty good. I’d wise up if I were you.

Some of you guys just don't know how good you have it compared to other places. There are a few jobs out there, but most want to underpay because the market has so many people looking for jobs. The fact is if you are not happy start looking and see if you can replace what you have now and go for it. The two previous post to this one are spot on, and I would just add be happy with what you have and make the most of it until things pick up. I went through the same thing always looking at the negative until one day I woke up and realized Oxy is a pretty good company overall. It is tough to change your attitude sometimes, but give it a try if you have not already.

I agree with the above responses. It all boils down to the manager. Been at Oxy a long time and you have to work through it and hang in there. Oxy is always making changes so you have to roll with the punches.

You don’t just land on a better team, you help make it what it is. Every team’s got issues. It’s not magically better somewhere else. Instead of thinking the grass is greener, just work with what you’ve got and try to make it better, but don't hope the new team will be better because right after you move you may find out your old team was not the issue.

OP, one day you’ll be in management and you can make a difference. You can do it.
