Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Global, U.S products going to shut down, final nail in the coffin

The latest in bonkers, after many similar people decisions ... Global , and primary census based product and apps are going to shutdown/replaced by a substandard version of mobile and pc app being marketed internally by technology and engineering as the next big thing. Supposedly this was going to be launched in the end of 2025 but delays and incomplete knowhow across domains has pushed it back repeatedly. Even now, it's incomplete and does not match the previous solution, atleast from Product perspective. But they have let go of every SME and will just roll with whatever... Clients to start moving with competitors soon, botched up long established solution, dissolution imminent.

If anyone thinks anything that this company produces has quality, they’re delusional! So called leaders in the Tech org are an absolute joke, can’t provide any guidance other than “Ask Gemini”. Matter of time before the clients realize that whatever is being produced by this company is cr-p, and they may as well generate random numbers from some AI themselves instead of paying Nielsen for it. SMEs are all gone, or waiting for severance to leave.

With all due respect, the sports department likely is a very nominal part of Nielsen revenue. It sure was 10+ years ago when I was there. Nobody really even knew it existed.

I’m not surprised, although I thought the demise would come faster.
people forget nielsen’s debt was bought 3-ish years ago by a company that has bankrupt entire countries in South America. They don’t give a fu-k what happens to the actual company or people, it’s all about profit off of the debt. These ghouls would gleefully profit off of rotting corpses if they could. Well that kinda describes Nielsen.

I do know the Sports dept is basically a skeleton crew now, so is Gracenote.
