Thread regarding Charles Schwab Corp. layoffs

Look around the office

The bodies are there but the people aren't. Hundreds have already left in their heads. We do the minimum, watch the clock, and wait for the day we can physically leave too. Schwab did this to itself.

@qa brother the amount of waiting at this job is insane. Ask for one feature, it has to go through multiple levels of approvals and then gets greenlit and then takes 6-10 months to get. And it's the simplest change in the world when you go and look through the PRs for that request.

The red tape here is so bad that it's suffocating.

A big part of the problem is the process is just such a grind that nobody seems to want to let us do any actual work. Five layers of approval to do anything, and nobody knows how to actually get those approvals, and nobody responsible for giving them wants to put their name on a potential outage.

Been with Schwab for 7 years in T2 role. Never been more ready to leave. They keep piling on mandatory training for extra skillsets with no pay increase or tangible benefits. They expect more work and production from us as they are not backfilling a lot of T2 positions. Tired of the constant phone slave grind.
