Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Layoffs aren't working as the default stock-bump strategy anymore

Maybe the era of doing nothing and raking in massive bonuses is finally winding down. The only problem is, where do you find executives who actually understand how to run a business properly?

American companies are use to working from a template and letting the non-executives do all the work. For a change to happen, companies will have to take chances on executives who are younger, millenials or gen z - a complete offshoot from what they beleive in because they'll just use lack of experience as an excuse. And that's not happening because that requires extreme change. The current executives would take the money and let the company burn before they go against the template. Look at the average age of Board of Directors. The older generation that would be competent have mostly been laid off or blackballed, stepped on by their current executive peers.
