Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

A post on LinkedIn shows Nokia and Ericsson (VZ equipment suppliers) are riffing lots of people due to lower spending on their products.

The network is being allowed to degrade while sociopath's are filling their pockets. US middle class is being gutted.... Way to go bootlicking middle and upper management!

Inevitable now that the 5G bo-m is ending.

For those around long enough, the same thing happened after the
4G bo-m
and the 3G bo-m
and the 2G bo-m

With a 6G spec not even slated to be finalized until 2030, it will be a number of years before it picks up again. That's presuming that there is a 6G bo-m considering what a whimper 5G has been. It's doubtful the 3 carriers will be anywhere close to being out of the massive debt pit they've dug for themselves.

Nokia also picked up some of Motorola Solutions (formerly Motorola - broken up into 2 groups - phones (Motorola) and networks, etc. (Motorola Solutions). Phones now belongs to China. I think Motorola Solutions now makes public safety radio equipment. A once well respected US company (Motorola) went the way Verizon is going now (greed led to it falling apart).

@bn unfortunately Lucent was brought by Alcatel which was brought by Nokia. Nokia also owns what’s left of Bell Labs. Another successful breakup thanks to Judge Green in the 1980’s.

Nokia thinks their hardware and support is much more valuable than what it really is.. they continually increase support costs and upgrade costs and expect the telecoms to just swallow it.

They made their bed and they can sleep in it.

@OP and why would Verizon use Nokia or Ericsson instead of using American founded companies?
