Once you report the severance payment to the workforce commission, during biweekly benefits request, they pause eligibility for payments for the 12 weeks accounted for from the severance. It'll also trigger an overpayment audit and then the workforce commission begins billing you back to recover the difference.

Not true. You can still file. Just don't wait too late.

You can file for unemployment after your separation date. Severance payout has no bearing on unemployment.
