Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I've learned not to worry about what I can't change

Took some work, but I got there. That also means I'm done trying to prove myself, going above and beyond, or giving this job anything beyond what my paycheck already covers. At this point, it's obvious that performance is the last thing that matters in layoff decisions. So no, I'm not ki-ling myself for the slim chance it might save my job.

@bn also embarrassing how many people applaud Dan and call him a tiger 🙄 FFS, he is only there to make his millions and couldn't care less about Verizon and its employees. funny how such id--ts are quiet since the stock broke below 50

Honestly, you’re right. I was part of the November layoff and I had stellar reviews, worked my butt off and never had any reason to think I was gonna get let go. And then I did. And so did so many of my peers. This is not the Verizon of ten, twenty years ago. I’m embarrassed of the company. Not of my peers or my work ethic, but the leadership and how we drove the company I really enjoyed working for, to the ground. F Dan for his cruel tactics. F Hans for his idiocy. Embarrassing.

It’s a hard lesson to learn, but it’s the truth. Just do your own job and don’t worry about anything else, attaboys are worthless.
