Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

One of the worst holiday seasons

I can't recall it ever being more tiring and at the same time more depressing to work at Macy's than this holiday season. You?

“act your wage” poster here
I was a red badge I no longer am employed with this company. I left because I was frustrated

Macys colleagues are the biggest babies whiners and complainers I’ve ever had the displeasure of managing.

How do you all function in real life and have kids and a family? I Feel bad for them if you behave like you do at work. Most of you need to grow up and it’s mainly the 35-60 crowd that is the worst. Gossiping…complaining… not willing to help new colleagues and the list goes on of all the disruptive behavior the lot or cause on a daily basis. Why can’t you be the ones calling out? I’d rather deal with a 20 year old texting on their phone instead of a a 55 year old middle age woman complaining about a fitting room and “why don’t we limit what people can try onl” etc….

Act your wage and GROW UP

Wow…hey red badge why so bitter and angry towards the people you manage. This attitude is disrespectful and extremely unproductive. What’s wrong with having a team that cares and takes pride in their work. Also why the arrogant/elitist mentality…it takes a “village”to run a profitable store. If people are frustrated listen, help them. ACT YOUR WAGE…

The only people “paid to care” are red badges it’s why we are salary and work 10-12 hours a day.

Gotta laugh when a colleague is crabby speaking of so much work and they are stressed. Or I called because I mentally can’t handle all the work.
Stop caring it’s not your job to care. Show up do as asked and leave. Your not accountable.

Clock in, help customers, hit your credit and bronze goal for the day. Follow direction from your captain and managers. Clock out go home and life your life.
ACT YOUR WAGE

No Stress, because no overtime, no one is paid to care anymore. Punch in, do whatever you want, punch out, collect your pennies. Rinse and repeat.

Remember when people would stampede the store the day after Christmas for 50% off Trim-A-Home and now it’s at 80% off 3 weeks before and no one cares! Cr---y over glittered plastic! Yeah gotta love when they repeat the exact same ornaments that tanked this year and they rebuy it again for next year!

I have been with this company for 10+ years and this year I am the most worn out I’ve ever been. That’s because of ISM. I started to feel tired after the pandemic started due to all the cuts and all the confusion, but the last 3 months take the cake for sure. No budget, more stock, more workload, less people for the floor. It’s ridiculous. No way this is a walk in the park.

These are naïve words of someone who didn't work retail before Christmas started in September and online shopping blew up. Compared to 10 years ago the holiday season is a leisurely walk in the park.
