That's my plan. Why push yourself? Hard work gets you one of two things: a raise that doesn't even match inflation, or a spot on the layoff list.

Work too little, and you’re “performance managed” out the door for being a slacker. Work too hard, get that hard-earned promotion, and you’re immediately “leveraged” out the door because your new salary looks like a juicy line item for a budget cut.
