Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Skip level meeting

Manager double, triple booked, late for meetings, no clear direction to team, rude and condescending. How does one get a skip level meeting.

My advice to you is to lay low. Decades in the business has taught me to avoid anyone above my direct manager. There may be direct actions taken based on your interaction. Best case is they’ll volunteer you for new work. Worst case is you’ll be marked as a troublemaker. Unless, of course, you’re looking to advance into middle management. Been there, it wasn’t worth it for me. You just rise to another level of unfixable problems that will never be addressed. If this is your career goal, I wish you the best. It just wasn’t for me.

Just email. Stay professional and highlight the key issues.

If things are as bad as you say, why are you still there? Find another position. There is nothing that will be done to that manager especially in a reasonable amount of time.

Condescending probably means OP needs to be constantly reminded to do their job properly and ethically.
