The (Bottom Line) is that (No Matter What) Corporate (AI Workforce Displacement) is going to (Increase) into 2027 (at least) -

  • A (Perfect) recent example is Oracle who just (Prioritized) Ai spending over Employees by laying off 25,000 on W, 4/1/26.

  • Employees are (Always) considered a line-item (Expense) due to the (Cost) of salary, and benefits by a Corporation.

  • AI RPA (Robotic Process Automation), and other AI efficiencies contribute to the Corporate bottom line.

Per the LEI - Leading Economic Index, a Major Recession is enroute > 2027.

Verizon like others wants to “frame” layoffs as preparation for the future, not past failures. Investors love that and the proof should be improved efficiency and customer satisfaction if that was the genuine reason. So far though with 15,000 layoffs I haven’t seen the dial move an inch

All tech companies now indicate AI is the reason for job cuts because they want to be seen as forward looking and innovative… funny how last year none of them did. Some of this is just boring cost cutting wrapped up in the illusion of technological revolution
