Thread regarding Synopsys Inc. layoffs

Paid for performance is a joke

Came from Ansys. I thought Ansys TC was pretty sh---y but now I understand that Synopsys is even worse.

As a manager, I participated some compensation planning and was shocked. Tell you what. RSU is bad. Very bad. Many positions above L4 are expected to received half of what they got last year at Ansys. Not everyone can get RSU even for very senior positions at L5

Snps used to be on. Since covid, too many SVP and VP popped up for the merge and political purposes and no one care about the products anymore.. I would say the merge is bad for both snps and Ansys engineers. but it is goood for the boards and c-suites of both sides.

@cg Well, ansys salaries were already lower than industry standard.

The sad truth was Ansys was a solid company that treated their employees with respect and dignity. Ansys wanted their employees to successful finically and career-wise.

I'm not seeing the same level of employee retention, respect or overall job satisfaction moving forward after the post-merger.

The other sad truth was the latest RIF targeted folks that had been with Ansys for 10 plus years marking them redundant and expensive talent.

The irony is the planning is bad for no reason other than the acquisition. Everyone other than execs are left holding the bag.
