I got laid off by OptumRx. I was unhappy with my manager and the unrealistic expectations. My manager treated me poorly from the start anyway but it seems like all my ex-coworkers still have their jobs and have no idea that these layoffs were happening. Is OptumRx doing mass lay offs too? Is OptumRx going to be phased out one of these days? Especially with the new bill?

ORX has been pretty quiet on the layoffs. I believe the changes outlined in government articles insinuated rebates would be eliminated. That would be a pretty big deal. These layoffs are most likely precursors for more to come for ORX. You’re right in saying you were targeted by your manager. That area is so much about who you know and hiring friends with management and senior management. You’re totally on track. I worked with someone who didn’t do anything for 4 years. All of the sudden was promoted to assistant director for doing absolutely nothing brought over from another integrated company and friends with SR leadership. It’s not you! then they target you as a low performer and make up lies about you.

@am that’s really false. All because you think just because you don’t use it that it didn’t take off? It’s actually really popular and low cost compared to any local pharmacy. But oook. Can’t look past your personal experience only. Typical.
@am I use it from a different provider. It $40 with mail order and $1200 at pharmacy with insurance for a brand name Rx. Go figure. For all my medications it 40 copy for 90 day supply. I would encourage you to look into it
@aa ORX is not as important as UHC. If the admin is threatening the very existence of UHC with rhetoric including RICO or splitting health care cos, then we will jettison RX to keep UHC going another quarter

Mail order pharmacy idea never took off in this country.
