Thread regarding GlobalFoundries layoffs

Santa Clara layoffs

They laid off a bunch of us in Santa Clara too. Not sure of the exact number. For the last quarter, we had been told to train GF Bulgaria employees how to do our jobs. Merry Christmas!

DEI has inadvertently created the exact opposite of it is original intend. It was meant to protect under represented groups. But It has now create institutionally endorsed and sanctioned systematic prejudice and bias that enforces and enhances discrimination. It protects and favors some groups while blatantly punishing and excluding others.

Yes many have learned to use it and leverage it as a sword and shield. A director in Malta, who has bounced around a bunch has become the master of using this system to her advantage.

My boss SB loves DEI. Despite her poor academic qualifications, technical experience and leadership skills She has misused DEI to get to senior director level. She is loved and adored by the incompetent boot lickers in our team and reciprocates by promoting this bunch of likeminded boot licking incompetents at the expense of the rest of the team.

DEI was misused last few years and that is resulting in failure of GF. Too late but good example of dei misuse and it’s effects.

Good one. DEI is one of the things destroying our company. The exact opposite of what Dr. King dreamed of. Hopefully with the ever so sad departure of ER, DEI will fade away as well.

Do you think your manager is watching their children open their gifts and there is a moment of reflection or feeling bad or guilt for the team members they laid off…and those they laid had to cut back this Christmas and their children had to suffer…. Just a moment of feeling compassion for those they let go…

@ OP …..Sorry you guys were impacted out there. I was let go here on the east coast. FWIW, look at it as a blessing. GF just paid you to be happier and healthier. Everyone I know who remains at GF, is unhappy and scared about future layoffs. I hope everyone gets a nice severance like we did and can move on in life and find a better place to work and contribute. Ignore the nasty comments, as they only illustrate the true culture of GF. Happy holidays and best of luck in a post GF world.

“I wish they'd get you all. You're all easily replaceable”

This comment right here, is a perfect example of the toxicity, rot and animosity at GF. I’m glad am no longer a part of it.
