@OP I see lot of churn on top level , looks like everyone is offering tribute by letting go (retire) one of the top leaders like lofty , does it remind of red wedding ?

@cm

I see some pretty terrible decisions, not all of his making, but all on his watch. Look at the 100s of developers he allowed to be recruited in Russia, a sanctioned country since 2014. Caused absolute mayhem. Any intelligent manager would not have made such decisions. This is basic stuff.
What do they teach in those posh English schools these days?

@cg TBH, Whitaker was useless and brought over too many of his equally useless buddies from BoA. I've read on this board that Zafar was a corrupt empire builder with a cotorie of bootlickers around him (he surely was in good company with Citi MD's on that count). Dunno much about the others. I had heard that Lofthouse tried to clean house and get rid of chair warmer Tech MD's that he inherited but then I dunno....maybe he got tired of being at Citi or he p1ssed off Tim Riley?

In the past few years, the high number of senior Tech managers who have left Citi is staggering....to name just a few: Whitaker, Zafar, Reilly, Donofrio, Rao, Adams, and now Lofty...

Sounds like a planned move. His replacement from Google is already announced and joining in Apr so probably on his garden leave.

Sounds like a survivor of Google's layoff's

Is it a case of rats deserting a sinking ship
The data and tech part of occ has been a bandage job. Sure, this admin might let Citi get away with it, but any data program whose implementation has been mostly done according to 'guidance' and 'standards' laid out by generalist auditors and check and challengers rather than experienced data professionals can only have shaky foundations... Like putting lipstick on a pig. Or trying to polish a tu-d. Ultimately a pig or a piece of tu-d will always be found out
