@h8 Bingo. If anyone’s confused about why they’re suddenly being asked to document processes, it’s because their role is quietly being packaged up for handoff to someone in the GCC.

@h3 its coming for STS on Monday 3/23. With Schwab India standing up, they’re not gonna pay six figure wages to tech folks in the states. Best of luck.

Just losing a lot of dead weight, mostly old people, late 40s or older. I'm actually looking forward to the future now that they no longer holding us back. Good riddince!

@cv they usually plan this a quarter out from what I heard from my old manager

The general thing is when schwab was headquartered in CA we had good MD/SVP leaders who were transparent, caring and results oriented. Now that we are TX based its become toxic for women, minorities and MDs are opaque, incompetent and playing power games over results

The good MDs and Directors have given way for incompetent folks who seek to retire ar schwab. All good TDA leaders were pushed out

@cf How early do the MDs know?

@c4 100%. They make the decisions with input from Directors. This is the way.

Wonder if the department MDs had any say in who stays or goes. My guess is they knew about it for a while and had to put up fake smiles and laughs until this morning.

I was laid off—FTE in STS; part of my org’s ongoing restructuring. Hoping my peers don’t get laid off as well next Monday. Record profits, my a-s.

Some may have been strategic. I also heard some were due to employees not following the remote policy. Badging in then leaving after an hour (they have been checking badge log histories).

Also was laid off today, along with 3 others in my team/group. Big impact as all of us were fairly senior - 8 years+.

I had a team mate impacted. We are a smaller group, so there is zero way this doesn't negatively impact work loads. So we need someone to come help us out already....

Looking forward to next survey.

@ad Did you have a job lined up if you were going to quit?

At least people got paid year end bonus based on the timing
Previous years used to be end of year layoffs more painful

Just got laid off. Hated the job for a long time. Kind of happy but also nervous of the current job market
