Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Glad I’m still here, ring side view

The next round is upper management. As craft I have witnessed a lot of very incompetent, lazy, self serving behavior from management that has been directly responsible for all of the layoffs. Craft employees have marketable skills and will find work much quicker than the online degree MBA holding managers who are about to be replaced by AI. Karma is coming for you! It’s all your own doing!

No @fj services is different than worker. You are mistaken. Craft workers are those with a skilled trade, electrician etc. Craft services supplies services to said Craft employees, services such as you mentioned catering of meals, cleaning bathrooms arranging transportation and housing, etc. Two different things. Traditionally VZ would only use Craft services on travel assignments for disaster relief trips such as hurricane, flood or ice storm restoration.

@bw it's short for Craft Services, the people who keep the catering table stocked at studios where tv shows and movies are being taped. DO NOT DOUBT ME.

Craft workers have always worked 5 days a week, on call, weekends, night shifts, had to figure it out because our technically incompetent 3 days a week management would not bother to provide training. We are in the weather while you are in the office. We are called out after hours working long hours while you sleep. We do real labor while you manage to a spreadsheet and comment during meetings about work you can’t even do or understand. We will not miss you when you’re gone. Relieved would be a better word.
