HR is there to protect the company. You will experience retaliation.

I didn’t. In fact they listened and took action. 3 years ago. Zero retaliation.
True. But if you know the case of a certain Security engineering executive pushed everyone under the bus; who was sleeping with his boss and others.. you’ll know if there is smoke they take action.
Depends , and yes i do know HR will always be for the company but i have seen in my time witches go down, if you have dates and document everything , that is what they need and you need for protection..but some people do not want to put in the work and are lazy to type a letter and rather quit, so it comes to either you suffer in silence or speak in writing or if you are not willing to do anything about it then yeah best to move on , because complaining and wining will not get things done so professionally speaking , write it down, keep record of dates , incidents and click submit if you need , & are willing to stay.
HR wants context.
Confirm. Favored employees lie, cheat, and steal and also harass (mentally and with unwanted physical advance). They're also allowed to destroy our reputation with other companies. They can be completely incompetent. They can literally cause good people to quit and cost the company millions.
They are protected, you are not. People at pretty high ranks have "gone to HR" for problematic people and then shown the door.
It’s a known fact. HR’s job is to protect company’s interests and mitigate risks. What did you expect?!
If you needed to be told this, you probably were not qualified for an actual job anyway.
The squeaky wheel gets the boot. You are considered the problem and will be pushed out after going to HR.
It would really help to have some context vs general statement.
