Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

If Dan quit tomorrow he would be a bigger success than Lowell and Hans combined.

Now leaner and meaner VZ is ready to soar. It has been many years now but the board finally is addressing their failures. Why they waited so long is puzzling.

Dan will pull through! Give him the time and he will certainly deliver.

@jt Exactly. Add to that stupid decisions and acquisitions during Lowell's stint but VZ was doing quite well due to quantitative easing, low inflation and interest rates, so money was cheap. Instead of lowering the debt during Lowell's and Hans' era, it has almost tripled

Its too late to save Verizon in it current form. Hans bet on C-Band Spectrum and 5G build out. But instead of network superiority, $60 Billion later, Vz is trailing. Now the price for failure will be paid by the employees, both those who are cut and those who stuck.

To be fair, his last AHC was an utter disaster. And that was in Jan? Where has he been since then? He doesn't want to come up on the stage anymore and share his grand vision while thousands are getting laid off and the company morale became desolate?? What kind of a "leader" is that? Sort of like Kim Jong Un?

And dimwits are calling this person a tiger, ge-z

It'll be soon 6 months he has been the CEO

Even with that low bar it is questionable that he cleared it.

Wall Street, so far, has rewarded the layoffs, they're all a bunch of vultures and could care less about people's lives being destroyed by these ghouls.

What goes around comes around, karma is a bi$ch.

He is an old, retired, out of sync exec who think using the word AI makes him look better. There is a better chance of Dan dying of ill health tomorrow than quitting

No he would be the biggest clown that has worked for VZ. FACT!

@bd. What failure? The stock is up significantly, he has eliminated lots of useless employees, settled with labor, started divestment and is working on the removal of the remaining dead wood. What is not to like? It is a good start for someone in power for a mere few months. Good times are coming.

We thrived under Lowell. His big mistake was Marnie. She threw us into debt with all the media company purchases that a rep in a store would know that was a stupid idea and not to do. We lost billions because of her. Hans turned us into Walmart and Dan is turning us into dollar general. Every time we try to be a media company we lose millions. Unless we can make a FIOS TV like YouTube TV we need to stay out of the media game. That includes perks that we make pennies on

So, as a result of this reckoning and housecleaning,, you maintain the Company’s well-positioned for a more generous contract offer than the one that’s currently on the table? Cool!

The stock has not closed higher since July of 2022. I am happy. At least he gives us hope. I probably should have sold then but might as well ride out Dan's trip.
