Thread regarding Marathon Petroleum layoffs

Marathon Petroleum hit by cyber attack?

Several S&P companies, such as Stryker crippled by Iran-linked hacker attack. Was MPC also targeted?

Holy cow! Stryker employees report losing all their personal photos, contacts, password manager data, and app settings. Phone carriers not very helpful in data recovery. Backup cloud services may save those who PROPERLY configured the back services correctly. Hours and hours of work for these poor folks too. All for the company wanting them to participate in BYOD program saving the company millions. But Stryker couldn’t put the necessary security measures in place to prevent such an event. Tell your boss to shove Intune software/BYOD and get you a work phone if they want you to work outside normal business hours.

Beware! Employee personal phones with Microsoft Intune device management software allows the company or hacker to use a Wipe remote action in Intune to factory reset a device, restoring it to its default settings. This action removes all personal and organizational data, apps, and configurations. This happened to poor Stryker employees! Immediately tell the company to remove intune from your personal phone and issue you a separate work phone!
