Fresno Unified Reduces 200 Roles, Zero Job Losses Expected

Fresno Unified plans to cut at least 200 certificated and classified staff positions. District officials, however, expect almost no employees to lose their jobs. Impacted staff will have options to bump down or move to alternative roles. The district faces an $88.82 million deficit this year. A union leader suggests using $81 million in discretionary funds, but the CFO states these funds are already committed.
