@c7 Did that, now I'm on a PIP but the only goal on tbe PIP is 45 badge swipes per quarter so I gave my badge to a buddy that lives within walking distance of the office.
Just tell them you simply cannot afford the commute anymore, and log in from home. Put the ball in your managers hands and let him / her decide what to do.
Remember that Dell is more than doubling headcount in India while reducing global headcount.
Tread lightly before your position moves to India, the Philippines, or now Argentina, Montenegro, and the Czech Republic more recently. Other countries have never left the office.
