Just smaller layoffs here and there? That's what everyone in my office seems to think, though not that our opinions matter much. But if that's how it's going to be, that's the worst. You're just waiting for it to hit, with no idea when.

@pw this applies for all roles. Also skill up in your area and additional areas that can help you have options. In fact, this is important at any company so when you leave EDJ know you’ll be better prepared at the next company. All the best!
Update your resume and start looking around.....more important than ever now.
The “reimagine” process last year was an unmitigated disaster that is still being cleaned up. There were additional “waves” planned and communicated - but those have all been put on hold and the incompetent BCG consultants let go.
Now the “reimagined” steer co has been relegated to working on “sustaining the change”, I.e. counting RTO badge swipes and battling against adding headcount in areas they cut haphazardly.
In a public company, the board would have fired the CEO and gutted the leadership team for such mismanagement. Here, the CEO votes herself a pay raise and the ELT quietly slinks away…
@as You are 100% correct. All we have to do is google the most horrible ways big companies are going about reducing head count. Write that list down. Then, look at how this company is doing things so far. We have literal demons running the show while penny cares only about her next ugly AF sport jacket or cringe pair of sneakers.
I would suspect that any layoffs will be much more focused on specific areas or functions. Those impacted shouldn’t expect the same type of severance as last year. The most recent layoffs in Operations were your job has been eliminated and you have 60 days to find a new job somewhere else in the firm. This is tough because there were a lot of people on the fence about taking the VSP last year.
While this is all non-Jones, we are experiencing what happens at other companies. This actually happened to me 8 years ago which led me to Jones.
@OP They will continue to avoid any large batches of layoffs in order to bypass the WARN Act requirements.
This ELT is the seediest and least ethical group of people I’ve had the displeasure of meeting. They don’t give a sh*t about us.
