Again we are being promised another “cost of living adjustment” at the end of the contract. Healthcare is going up. Inflation is on par with the raises so basically we are left with nothing but what we started with. Can someone explain to me why I pay dues to this union? I would’ve been better off negotiating for myself

@a7 us older folk don’t trust the younger folk. In my area they cross the line. So why fight for them
Ill vote yes!
@af average inflation is 3.25% a year so ya we are getting fu---d. Especially when healthcare increases. 4% each year and I will vote yes. Don’t want a pension from this company
@ac, so you are voting NO. What would be acceptable for you to vote yes? As much as I would like the newer members to have a pension. It just is not going to happen. Please explain.
@aa sorry I should’ve said we are left with less than what we started with. Maybe use your brain and stop taking the surface level bs this company and union gives us. Everything would dwindle to nothing because of people like you
@ac what people say to you and how they vote are often very different
It’s a NO from me and everyone in my shop! That’s 35 members that can see this isn’t a good deal. GET BACK TO THE TABLE!
You’re full of sh!t. Read the contract, the facts are that everything you claim is false! Read the contract.
@a3 no doubt it’s gonna pass. Older folk says vote yes younger folk says vote no. Very small minority of young people here. The problem is the young people can’t afford to live anywhere and have to save for retirement. the older gen has a pension and pre covid mortgages.
Im voting NO, this union needs to start negotiating for its members that will be here another 20+ years.
No pension you say? How about $3100 bonus every year instead??? Fkn joke!
Next contract in 4 years, $3100 will be bumped to 5k and so on....
inflation compounded is like 45percent since covid
it will pass 80-20
