Recently, working for Dell is about making pieces fit that don’t actually fit using duct tape and baling wire.

When we keep putting bandaids on everything, the right people are too far removed to know anything is wrong.

In addition, I’ve been legacy Dell for over 20 years. If they’re gonna get rid of me, I want a package.

@ef At best Dell is a 9 million dollar company that's duped a lot of shareholders to buy in.

@eg We'll be fine because half functional tools are Dell bread and butter. Anyone else that's been around more than 6 mo ths is used to it by now and knows how to find workarounds.

@c5 They can't give solid training because how can one give training if they don't even know what or how to train you??!.. The training su-ks because it's not ready to be rolled out to users and, they know it.

There are almost 30 THOUSAND people on this project and the majority have no clue why it was ever considered "NDA" because it's nothing special. It's not some new tech that Dell innovated or created. I mean heck, Dell leaked the entire project to BI 8 or 9 months ago lol. Probably because chatGPT explained exactly what the project was LOL.

At this point, it's no secret but Dell pretends it is because hey, what better way to keep something secret than having 30 thousand employees involved in it! BUT, lets not tell the employees who will be using it, anything about it!

Go to chatGPT and type in "Dell project maverick" and there ya go!

@ef i don't root against dell necessarily because well, if dell is in the sh----r then so are a lot of our jobs... I absolutely DO root against Dell's projects, though. Specifically Maverick because that's their "baby" right now and it's what they've been bragging about for the last 6 months as being the "biggest transformation in Dell history;" but the problem is that it's NOWHERE NEAR ready to go live.

JC made it quite clear that the project won't be pushed back again - whatever tf that even means - and emails have already been sent out about it going live in May, along with training for some people. Yeah well, it might go live in May but it ain't gonna be pretty and I feel sorry for anyone who has to use the new tools because you'll be using a half functional tool that barely works.

@d1 Why? Because Dell is a 97-100 billion dollar company and quarter after quarter, MD sends out emails saying how GREAT the company is doing and how much money they made... cr-p like "we had the best quarter in history" or whatever tf else...

Ok, well then show US the money! The people who you know, made that happen? We hear all about how great Dell does quarter after quarter but yet, somehow that never translates to more money in our pockets. It translates to higher cafe prices, smaller raises, more layoffs, and cutting budgets.

Why do so many of you root against the company you work for?

@OP JC already looks like a clown everytime he dons another one of his stupid-a-s t-shirts. He is a total clown. And the truth be told, we don't have engineers, managers, or architects who are capable of succeeding at anything. Look at the track record. It's nothing but a long path littered with failures. They're all incompetent.

They can’t even give a training that actually tells what it does. It was just a pdf of some generic app screenshots. I am beginning to think it’s less about NDA secrecy than butt covering secrecy.

@bx Yup. We'll be forced to use the 10% that actually works then "swivel" to legacy tools to do the rest. The PM will try to hide this from JC anf JC will be happy because he is being told what he wants to hear. Meanwhile everyone will be stuck with another broken tool and more archaic processes to follow.

It will definitely fail, but it will be covered up and accepted.

Yeah dude, I'm part of this bs and find it HILARIOUS that anyone genuinely believes it will be "ready" by May LOL. It's barely working in the test environments as it is and, that's been getting "tested" for almost 2 years at this point lol.

But hey, I'm just told what to do and do it so, if it's broken and half working then not my gd problem
