I know that when someone gets laid off, they have a term date, typically two weeks after the date of layoff. So how does regular salary and severance payment works? Are these two weeks paid as regular salary or part of severance, and how long might it take for severance to get paid out.

You can’t get into anything after 5 on last day. You can not even apply to internal positions
Does anybody know how to go exempt for that severance check now? Laid off on 2/19, last Thursday was my last official date of employment. All equipment has been mailed back so how do I go in and alter my tax deductions when I can’t access that site anymore? I’m confused lol
RIF'd employees can't accept their severance agreement until after their final day of work. Once signed, the company provides he following guidance: "While we extend every effort to process as soon as possible, it may take up to 2 - 3 pay periods for your payment."
The same company that recently gave everyone a 1% cut in compensation via a reduced 401K match also reworked their severance formula. For Level 27 it used to be 2 weeks per year of service with a 26 week maximum. Now 18 years only gets you 20 weeks.
@OP I was RIF'd and my last day was 2/6. I received a final paycheck the next week. I still have not received my severance pay. I did however receive my bonus last week which was unexpected---but needed since I am still waiting for my severance pay.
I would put exempt on your taxes so you dont get sla-ghtered on your final check. You can make up for it, when you land that totally awesome next job that pays higher than you can ever make with this s**t hole place!
Depending on your state you may also get some PTO. I would recommend changing your deductible or you will get ki-led on taxes. And check with your state on when you can apply for unemployment.
You should have gotten your severance paperwork. You will get paid hours worked and also your severance. Once you sign the agreement, its 1-2 pay periods later. Depending on what state you live in, they should pay you immediately or next pay period for your hours worked.
