Thread regarding Global Payments Inc. layoffs

Are the reorgs/layoffs impacting all orgs?

We're getting next to no information from leadership where I am.

@2s0 Do ya not realize how complicated our business is??? One leader for a large team of 60+ people. Multiple systems and environments. VPNs inside of Remote desktops. Changing VPNs 4 times in a call to go back and forth between systems. Don't mention leaders doing their 1 to 1 talks and escalation, calls with McKinsey, PwC, Thought Logix, yes we have 3 consultants we work with. On top of all that, you cant take days off because you get so far behind it makes you physically sick to your stomach about how much you missed. Oh not enough? How about the constant meetings about system consolidation. Still not enough.... talk about taking previously defined tasks that take 20 minutes, now taking an hour because we want to "have progress over perfection"..... dont worry. We will "circle back" to that next release. Not enough? Budget stripped or reduced and that McKinsey initiative not meeting the completely outlandish NRB (Net Recurrent Benefit) that McKinsey decided needed to be hit because thats what their spreadsheet told them? Not enough... what about extremely low morale with everyone. People are in tears when they come into the office. The fear culture is here and real. Let alone all the "Worldpayers" taking our jobs and shipping them over to other countries. Everyone needs to wake up. The......ship......is..........SINKING. nothing we do is Genius. It's smoke and mirrors. Don't worry, Cameron and all his cronies will alllll get their payouts when everyone is laid off to reduce costs. Need to hit that staff reduction goal. After all... gotta get that stock price up. That is the only thing that matters.

I need a Tylenol and a drink...... and another job.

Why would going down to a single leader be a negative

@2p0 Merchant and Ops are moving the same way. Most who are Senior Managers and up will be included in the next reduction. My Leader informed me on Friday that most departments will condense down to 1 leader. Most teams that interacts via phone will move offshore in the next 8 to 10 months. It is quite depressing and unfathomable of what the company has become.

I urge us all to hang on through this so we can receive an exit package. I just wish there was something we could all do. Log in, clock in, and nobody work, that would get their attention.

@zq not true here at ECSI. I know our vp is aware because he is horrible at keeping things to himself. It is like he has to tell someone so the know how important he is.

I like to believe my manager is being transparent with me when they tell me they don’t know anything at their level, up to director. I assume this is happening at a higher up level and isn’t being communicated downward until a decision is made, at which point I don’t think anyone has any input in what happens. I know people who have been laid off that their management would have kept if they had any say.
