Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Musical Chairs

If I was running a company, I too would just spend the majority of the time, shifting people around re-organizing restructuring the departments and hope eventually we would make money

I wouldn’t worry about the role responsibility confusion or ramp up time to get everybody knowledgeable about what they need to do I would just keep on shiftin

Don't get settled as April is just around the corner. Let the Canon twister game continue a little more until we move to jenga to crumble down.

Sammy-Sun is a waste of human flesh. In fact, he's a reptile.

I have never worked for a company that is so uncaring and condescending to it's own employees. We keep getting told to cut cost and are in fear for our jobs jets we have money to move people around all the time. Itasca is switching it up moving folks from the 3rd floor to the 2nd into much tighter packed in areas. Sales or some other teams will be moving UP to the 3rd level and some from Itasca (bruning) will move there as well.
It's hard enough to concentrate at work where its either so quiet that you can hear a pin drop or so noisy and annoying that you can't hear yourself think. The switch to Google from Microsoft seems like a cheap move that will only cause added stress and issues onto an already stressed and burnt-out staff. Let's keep gutting departments changing up hours and expect those that still want to be here do even more work than blame them for errors etc., Look around people are quiet. Too quiet and angry and sad and they just don't seem to care. Canon don't you think Happy Workers are harder workers? I don't want to lose my job but something has got to change. ) :

I can envision them all sitting in a conference room and typing furiously “Konnichiwa, Gemini-San, why is my revenue so low?” 🤣

Sammy-Son must not be using AI effectively. English translation must be misleading.

Is constant restructuring, healthy for a company

Short answer:
Occasional restructuring = healthy. Constant restructuring = usually a symptom of deeper strategic or leadership problems

They treat it like a Rubik’s Cube with over 43 quintillion possible arrangements.

Don’t worry Sammy San, you will crack the code someday…keep twisting everyone around until the stars align.

They make something which should be straightforward seem like an impossible task, kind of like kids assembling the Shrine of the Silver Monkey on “Legends of the Hidden Temple”.
