Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Strike is Coming- save money

My president is tight with people bargaining and he is saying save money and that a strike is coming. He said the company wants pretty bad things like more contracting, ending work from home, nothing at all for new guys, and really low wage increases 1’s, and a freeze one year. Worse he saying all the unions will say it is still a good deal because they know members are lazy and don’t want to fight.

@OP Rough qualitative assessment (not from any market or poll):
Odds of some contract being ratified in 2026: Near-certain (~95%+) — standard outcome in telecom union bargaining.
Odds of an early extension being reached and ratified before summer 2026: Moderate (~40-60%) — early 2025 talks failed, but the current round is still live.
Odds of ratification without a strike: High (80%+) based on recent pattern.
The unions remain focused on member priorities (wages, job security, benefits). Updates will come from your local CWA or IBEW chapter as talks progress—check sites like cwad1.org, cwad2-13.org, or your specific local for the latest.

Both the union and company know that if there’s a strike it will be the end.

Wow- clearly no clue on the inner workings of a major corporation. I guess you must think significant decisions about marketing, procurement, tax, real estate, capital allocation, payroll, HR policies, contracts, investor affairs, treasury, gov affairs, hiring/layoffs, legal just happen without direction. These are just to name a few. I’m not a boot li---r but I understand corporations need leaders to provide cohesive guidance. This might not make sense to someone sitting on a pullout couch in their parents basement….

Here is a thought all you non union folk and haters on here, get a life. Go do something to improve yourself. Get a job, go back to trades school. Work on the childhood trama that is triggering all yout hatred and ignorance. Life is short . No one on the union side takes your rambling seriously. If anything we feel bad for your pathetic behavior. Get some help, get a job and for the love of God, take your meds! I hope you all have the day you deserve.

@a7

Breaking news! There is a great new invention called a "period". See that little dot? You can use it to break up rambling walls of disconnected thoughts into things called "sentences".

Perhaps you could invest time in an elementary school curriculum until you've mastered these basics so you don't come off as totally illiterate.

But you do you...
