Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Did anyone actually think through these layoffs?

The cuts around me were completely senseless. They kept some redundant positions, yet laid off people who seemed indispensable, either because of what they brought or the role they filled.

@rb I'd say no one has thought anything through since all the way back Greg Wasson's time, 2009-ish. He was instrumental in putting Walgreens on it's downward trajectory.

Oh wow, you’re genuinely shocked the soulless vampire squid aka Sycamore Partners fired people based on gasp cost savings? Bro they bought the company to strip it like a stolen car in an alley, not to run a merit-based TED Talk on ‘skill retention.’ They kept the redundant payroll leeches and those with least tenure because those guys cost less or kiss the right a-s; your ‘indispensable’ heroes got the axe because their salary line item made some spreadsheet goblin’s butthole pucker.
