I hate waiting around knowing if I’m next. No one communicates anything and it’s just a horrible feeling. How are we supposed to get work done knowing we could be next?

Assuming you need the job, who would you they be laid off today than tomorrow? Every day you're not laid off is a day you're not laid off.
are u a student? too young too simple to ask such silly question
@a7 my decades long experience has mostly been in fortune 100/500 companies outside of banking. I’ve never heard of or experienced anything like a 3 year Bora Bora layoff. Usually 1-2 two rounds of sharp cuts and it’s over. Maybe times are changing due to AI and automation.
Happily dropped out of the rat race 2/2.
So long and thanks for all the fish.
Have you ever worked any place else where there were layoffs, particularly in banking? They only tell you they are coming, but never tell you when or where, or who. You just come in knowing your day could be your last.
When I was laid off before, it was buzzing everywhere. Management stopped talking about it, then one day I was on my computer, and there's my manager pinging me, asking can she give me a call and that was it.
How the work would be done?
