Stack ranking has everyone watching their backs instead of helping each other. A buddy was laid off six months ago and still can't land anything, so I'm terrified to leave. The only bright spot is the friends I've made across different teams. The rest of it is just showing up and wondering if today's the day they cut my access.

Try working here 35+ years. Started at C&P Telephone of MD, pre-divestiture. Those were the days.
AI = At India
AI = Assign India
Try working here 20 years…
India is not the only one, Ireland and other places also getting same positions from VZ, that they just laid off in US. Keep an eye on postings, the only difference is location to other than US.
AI = Actually India
I was replaced with a contractor in 🇮🇳 that has my exact position and was added to the team slack channel one week after my last day, this happened so many times in Verizon that I guarantee that most of the 13000 employees who left were replaced with contractors overseas.
THIS is why thenjob market is rubbish, it is not AI not economy. Outsourcing US jobs has simply became an industry that worth billions and expected to grow 20% on an annual bases in the next 5 years so more layoffa and less new jobs here in the US.
Corporates are blaming AI to cover the ugly fact that they are making money in the US and hiring overseas, mainly paying salaries in $ to BRICS countries that hate $.
I hate to say it but it is not only Verizon, this is happening in every corporation but at a different pace and as long as the outsourcing lobbyists keep feeding the greed of our corrupt politicians then this will keep happening
