Our store is getting slammed with returns. On an average, any where between $70,000 and $80,000 taken back daily. Any one seeing this happening in their stores?

$70,000 a day in returns??
That is over $25 million a year in just returns
That figure does not sound correct
Yes we have had so many returns this season compared to previous years. We just couldn’t keep up, plus with the expired bops and boss, and mail in returns, we are just so overwhelmed and can’t get to anything. We have no room for the returns that we are going to get this week after Christmas.
The last reply is correct. When you ring a fine jewelry item, the register will print standard things for the customer and also a Control Copy that the sales associate might need to keep to record the purchase.

....Or maybe it's a receipt that needs to be filed away.
It's easier to shop online & then see what you don't need. No offense but my local Macys is a messy disaster & difficult to shop. Piles of clothes everywhere especially on the floor. Nothing in its place so finding sizes are difficult. Beauty is understaffed & you need their assistance to buy. Cranky folks at the jewelry department who keep part of the receipt which I assume is a survey invitation.
Returns desk has people that struggle even though you have your Macys card, online order in the app AND the packing receipt if your order came with one. Not all do ....
But still easier than plowing through the store to find merchandise.
Most people return because they get the bill and can’t pay it
If your return rate is that high you must be in a 55-65+ million environment with another location close to yours.
Our store manager says there aren't any returns the week before Christmas so she doesn't understand why AYS is so swamped.
Maybe it isn't Biden, maybe it's nobody wants the cheap junk your trashy company is selling.
Dillard's is doing just fine.
We had $7000 in one day.
I can’t tell you a dollar amount, but yes. Returns at AYS are out of control. Half of them are NCT and you’re stuck with those which is unfortunate. Especially the shoes. There were issues with net reset last week. Hopefully that got resolved and we’re not getting stuck with the losses from merchandise purchased at other stores or online.
