Thoughts to those who worked their last day today, but please spare us the sappy posts. Verizon used and abused you, then hung you out to dry. You owe no word of kindness as you exit involuntarily. Shake the dust off and move on. Sorry to those who are stuck behind in this unhealthy mess.

Yeah, the sappy LinkedIn posts are overdone and too many. Does anyone leaving think they really made a difference other than keeping a poorly led company operational?
My favorite are the people who led efforts to offshore and rif jobs who then got let go themselves and said they are grateful. Grateful for helping to ruin lives before their own was also ruined? And then to say it created value? The brainwashing at vz is another level. It will take these people years to realize their own loss of humanity and respect for themselves.
No sappy email from me to coworkers. If I retired, maybe. But I was basically fired for no reason other than to pad the stock and bonuses for executives. Am I a bit upset, sure I am. This was my career and I gave my all. Am I bitter? Absolutely not! I’m free and enjoying the first summer off in over 30 years!
