Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Why not just get it over with now?

We're 90% through, and the last 10% could happen anytime between now and forever, just to keep us on edge? Sigh.

The 10% remaining is due to regulations in some jurisdictions and/or annual break. In a lot of countries they can’t just fire you like this. Once they’re done in your location, they’re done. Any additional restructuring will be done at the leadership level.

@ Former Sabre here too… I had 33 years when cut loose in ‘23. Knowledge Walkin’ out the door. Don’t miss the place. I say good luck to ‘em. The C-Suite has everything well in hand. “Stay calm. All is well.”

Look for a job while you still have one. Sabre will probably be bankrupt in a couple of years anyway.

The layoff was announced on 2nd day of Lunar New Year where several countries in Asia are off celebrating the annual festive holiday. Heartless.

Short term gain for long term loss. The last layoff proved that.

Won't disclose who or how I know, but some of the longest serving employees were affected. I'm talking 30+ years. Obviously some of the higher salaried people. A shame because these were also some of the most knowledgeable people for their departments and I am certain certain teams will struggle due to these layoffs. Teams that are already small and some that haven't filled vacancies.
