@a5 Pretending that RTO should be no big deal because everyone worked in the office 10 years ago is a great example of gaslighting! A favorite strategy of trolls.
@er They’ve been using a 30 minute radius (not miles). They use MapQuest or something similar to determine if your commute would be 30 minutes or less mid-week and not even during rush hour. Like Wednesday at 4pm.
@ed Oh wow! I sure hope I’m not included since I was hired as a telecommuter. I’d be within the 30 mile range if they enforced an RTO.
@bv building is an Optum WellMed building. Currently plans to remove WellMed signage at the I-10 site. There is also a United floor there so likely involves all
The only difference with RTO is staff spend a lot more time in person discussing how much they hate this place and how to best get back at the company.
You’d think a union-busting place like this would WANT everyone in their own home, siloed away from others. They are practically inviting whistleblowers and union talk making everyone drive in.
@bp not quite. All telecommuters within a 30 mile radius were converted to hybrid status and then required to report to the office 4 days a week. Productivity suffers because the employees report not having the basic tools to do their jobs, like ethernet cords, chairs, quiet spaces, etc.
@bp in MN RTO started with “hybrid” employees IN July 2025 then went to a 30 minute radius of all employees including those who were telecommute in October 2025
Would this only apply to wellmed hybrid people or can they mandate jthis for other areas of UHC/Optum? I ask because I’m only aware of a wellmed building in the SA area.
If it only affects hybrid employment then I don’t think it’s necessary to make a big fuss out of this. They have asked hybrid employees in MN/WA to RTO 4 day a week for half a year now with no chance of calling everyone.
@a5 yeah and you probably walked to school with no shoes on, in the snow, uphill both ways
@a5 yes I remember and it was just boomers drinking coffee and chatting for half the day instead of doing their jobs!
@ab ahhh that makes sense. I thought they had already enforced 4 days a year or two ago? Not surprising since they build that campus after Covid
@a5 let me tell you boomer about that some of us took the job to be remote specifically. So why don’t you go back to being annoying somewhere else. We know you don’t have a life anyways.
@a3 to my understanding it's all hybrid employees at the I-10 campus
Is it to the WellMed campus off I-10?
@a5 we remember before COVID, and many of us were telecommuters then too.
@a5 I also remember that. It su-ked then too.
Let me tell you kiddos a story about life prior to Covid-19..Once upon a time we went into the office 5 days a week...THE END!
What department?
Well if I need to be in four days a week then these darn AI agents better be in too darn it!!!!
Sorry op. Anyone know where else they are expanding RTO?
