Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

Executive Level Promotions

Maybe this is me but the concept of announcing several executive level promotions and simultaneously telling the workforce that there will be layoffs to offset inflation, shows a total lack of humanity and civilized behavior. Is that what we have become?

@1xy Why? Customers important enough to speak RM directly would have received a personal call or an email anyway. No need to do it on LinkedIn on the same day hundreds of lay-offs are done. Pure hubris and vanity.

Andy F needed to announce it so customers would know that Mendis was gone? That's the only thing I can think of as an excuse. Totally agree that it was messed up to put it out there during a mass layoff though.

The optics of promoting the former chief HR guy, Shawn Williams, to Chief Operating Officer (what is he going to do, manage Sabre's supply chain?) and then promote the SVP of HR to Chief Human Resources Officer during a huge layoff is worse, IMO. These guys are so stupid.

Former Sabre here don't know Andy F but looked him up and his gloating post on LI. F that gremlin looking F'er. Raises bourbon glass.

This was absolutely the worst kind of behavior and from a CCO no less. The only thing worse were the people responding as well! If they had even an ounce of empathy, the post should have been deleted. Perhaps he was overjoyed that even after making the company issue double digit growth guidance based on his projections and ending up flat, he was still promoted. Still waiting for a few days would not have changed his sense of achievement.

@fw Absolutely no need for him to do it while people are still being actively fired. That kind of bad judgement makes you wonder how someone can copy with sensitive commercial responsibilities.

F#@k Andy F. Talk about tone deaf. I also lost respect for some of the a-s kissers congratulating him on that post.

That was an amazingly low class move. At the time I complained how Menke did his layoffs, but they were humane in comparison.

They’re flaunting their promotions on LinkedIn and patting each other on the back while hundreds lose their jobs. Disgusting, vile people. I don’t know what’s worse: their posts or the low-level employees who congratulate them.

@OP expecting humanity from this ELT?? These promotions are forced. Someone has to be around, and they ask their price.
