@a1 no I don’t. I’d rather invest so I don’t have to work for sc-mmy companies ASAP

@dt spoken as somebody who has no idea of how it works here. numerical ratings were due last october already. those ratings were decided based on zero feedback from peers or comments on goals. i do regular one on one meetings with my reports, so i am comfortable rating them without that extra information, but just some context for you.
after ratings are in, "upper management" looks at them and says "you need to lower X people to a 3, and you are required to have 1 rated as a 2". no negotiation, human capital verifies everything was done according to instruction.
some time passes, and compensation planner opens. you find out what kind of pool you have to work with for merit and rrp (they are separate pools). i spend an hour or so spreading things around and dialing in numbers, trying to be as fair as possible. it is then "pencils down" time, and the next layer above me looks at it. they tell me what adjustments to make, i argue with them, i lose. it then goes to the next layer of management, they make changes on their own, with no input from me.
every. single. one. of my numbers in comp planner changed, and they reduced my rrp pool by 30%. middle and lower level managers have no power here. it is a facade.
GL 29. Rating 5.
2%, 200% RRP, 25K RSU.
First year, joined last summer. So I am pretty happy, worked hard NGL but I also learnt a lot.
From my experience it's not all that bad, maybe it depends on the department? My team is pretty hard to work for n people move around a lot.
@dh what's your rating? Gl29 with 5 got 2% reward, 200% RRP, RSU in my team. UHC MnR
bonus over 15k. really relieved and surprised.
@db have some integrity and rate them according to their work. Not just what management told you to do. YOU are part of the problem!!! So awful, weak people.
L30. 0 merit, 0 RRP, $1,000 RSU vesting over 4 years.
I should just collect carts at HEB after hours. More value in that than $250 a year in stock (maybe). I would get exercise too instead of straining my eyes in front of an Optum laptop all night.
As a manager, we were told to give lower GLs the merit increases. Many of the 27/28s in my area got 0-1% as 3s and 4s. Can confirm that all who qualified for RRP got something, though. Not the full amount for most, but something.
Our director passed money down to the front lines… starting at the manager level. Of course he did not start at his level. And I am one of the managers involved in the process so I can speak from first hand experience.
@cr you live in a world where you can trust telephone salesmen if you think any person will give money to others over themselves.
Not justifying bad raises, but this was the system the company set up. I guarantee you 99% of people wouldn’t pass on their own raises or bonuses to give it on down the line. Nor would you, when you have the option to confidentially keep most of it or give it all away and have your own family bear a lower income.
0 across the board. 29. Hired last summer. Boss indicated it wasn’t bad performance but it felt very damning on my continued employment.
Congrats, @OP, I am also a SG30, individual contributor so can't say who will get the RRP dollars that won't come to me (I've never received the full $$ RRP either), but hoping it goes to some of the 28's and 29's on my team. You are the kind of manager I wish I had.
@c3 well I would fu--ing hope you would take from your thousands of bonus to give to the team considering they do all the work for you. Fu-k you.
@c3 So what your saying is the bobbleheads still got significant bonuses even though you all do nothing in the way of anything meaningful when it comes to work, but glad you who got thousands in bonus money have exposed yourselves to the amount of cash that was being given to managers and directors.. Many did not believe that management main concern is to build a team that has one goal in mind and that is to grow a good business. You just proved that management just wants to get a big bonus at the cost of their team.’
So you got a 3? That’s what it sounds like based on numbers.
As a 4 at GL30, I didn’t get the full merit budget… but I never do. But my bonus was better than I thought, and got some RSU’s.
I expected not to get much, was a tough year for the org. Is anyone that surprised? I also made sure to give more to those under me which meant some likely got taken from me to balance the budget.
Grade 30
%0.5 merit + $5k RRP
What salary grade?
If I got 18k as a bonus best believe i'm coppin dat G80 M3 ya feel meee
